This song was inspired by a bullying prevention talk I attended where the speaker used the metaphor of different shoes pulled from a bag to inspire his middle school audience to be empathetic. I combined my own story with one of his stories as well as the stories of several of my anxiety clients to create something that is hopefully universal. The bottom line is that we ALL have to PRACTICE walking in each other's shoes.
