This song was one of the significant early expressions in my life of what I lovingly call "Spiritual But NOT Religious".

While being loosely inspired by my native Christian background, it is a far cry from the heavy, cliched "Jesus" language or "God tawk" that so much "Christian" music relies on.

At the time I wrote this I was attempting to find SOMEPLACE where my music would be accepted, appreciated and valued.

However, whenever I played for "christian" audiences the over-riding message I got was, "Not Christian enough".

Secular audiences, felt it was "too christian"... For me it's just Spiritual.

Spirit manifests itself in so many forms throughout the world that to me it's ALL spiritual... but it ain't pushing any particular "brand" of spiritual. Hope that helps. If not listen anyway. It just might light a fire in YOUR eyes... LOL :o)
